SDG INVESTMENTS arranges EUR 47.2 million financing for European wind farm portfolio
SDG INVESTMENTS GmbH acted as the exclusive structuring and placement agent for Connected Infrastructure Capital GmbH (CIC), Hamburg, in the successful EUR 47 M junior debt financing. The five-year loan was provided by one of the world's leading infrastructure asset managers.
The loan raised at HoldCo level is subordinated to the project financing at SPV level and will be used to acquire three onshore wind projects in the Netherlands and Sweden, which are bundled as a portfolio under the holding company. The portfolio includes one operational wind farm, one project close to completion and one prototype test-site. The total capacity of the 21 wind turbines amounts to 81.8 MW.
The portfolio includes a broadly diversified revenue profile that includes wind-independent lease payments, government subsidies, a private power purchase agreement, and spot market sales. This provides an attractive risk-return profile for the institutional investor providing the junior loan.
SDG INVESTMENTS secured the investor and advised CIC on financial modelling and negotiations. Together, the two companies are already planning the implementation of further projects.
