"as-a-Service" Business Models as a driver of sustainable change
Not only the new government but also the general consensus are steadily moving ecological goals such as the UN Development Goals (SDGs) further into the focus of society. A trend that is currently clearly visible is towards service and away from product. This gave rise to 'anything-as-a-service' (Xaas) business models, in which companies preserve products for as long as possible, recycle them, circulate them, share them with others and thus maximize their utilization. These new business models bring innovation not only in sustainable consumption and responsible business, but also in financing. Asset-based financing can help meet the upfront capital needs that arise. In parallel, investments in XaaS offer an attractive opportunity for investors: collateral such as contracts with customers with strong credit ratings reduce risk, while at the same time making the portfolio more sustainable.
